Kelly has a new obsession: What are some social networking sites that have been founded before 1993?
I just want this for information for myself. So I don’t end up with too many posers/fakes when searching for people on the social networking sites.

I doubt there is.
The only one I could find that was even close to 1993 was SixDegrees.com (but it closed in 2000).

Answer by knight1192aWell, Usenet started around 1980. It wasn’t a social networking site as one would think of them today, basically just a place to read and post messages in a newsgroup. It was a bulletin board site and one of the early efforts to create a social networking site. There’s also ARPANET which was a Defense Department network that actually predates the web, it goes back to 1968 but can’t really be called a social networking site. Then there’s LISTSERV, which was an early e-mail program from 1986. You had to first join LISTSERV by traditional mail but then you could e-mail others once onboard and have any discussions you wanted. The first modern social networking site would have to be TheGlobe.Com, which came out in 1994.Answer by Social Media Expert
There is no networking sites founded before 1993. Most of the social networking sites came in to existence after 1998.
