Zoe G: What are some good ideas for a holiday party?
I am planning a Holiday party for about 20-30 people, the ages are diverse, mostly adults that are 40 years and older, but some kids under 10 and a few teenagers. I need some good ideas that wont break the bank.

Hawain party – you could like have people doing the limbo and drinking fruit juice cocktails =S
Masquerade ball – but this would cost more that the hawain party – people bring masks (or you could make masks) and then you know pretty dresses and suits =D

Each year, we have an “elephant” party. Everyone brings 1-2 inexpensive gifts-either serious or gag. We roll dice, and if you get a double, you choose. You can either choose from the pile, or steal from someone. The key is NOT to open the gifts until the game is over. At the end, when all of the gifts are gone, we have a 2 min. speed round–throw the dice, doubles, you steal…or pass if you don’t get doubles. At the end, you open your gifts.

Truly hilarious, because people start stealing gifts and decide what they think they are….and of course, never are! We hit the dollar store, and the clearance bins. We’ve gotten great picture frames, boxes of candy, dominoes, umbrellas, calendars…but the best fun of all is just playing the game!

A chocolate fountain is great for all ages old and young alike. they are not expensive anymore and everybody is drawn to it. I put plates of marshmallows, strawberrys, bananas, apples, pineapple,and bite size pound bread around the fountain and let the fun begin.

if ur gonna make them, dont use dixie cups or ketchup cups, you need the REAL jello shot cups!

Much like another answer – there is an actual gift exchange game with rules (including a play mat with dice combination reference) and giant dice everyone can see.
