shutupj3ss’: What are some good foods for dinner the night before an exam?
I’m not being stupid and saying – what foods will make me do well in the exam? I’m saying what foods will help keep me on track like when you have a sporting event, you eat spaghetti or a food high in carbs the night before for energy or something.
Does anyone have a specific meal they have the night before an exam?
Thanks.

Eat proper meals, they keep you alert. Try protein or oily fish which contains omega three, for example salmon with some pasta and sauce. Eat a big meal that makes you feel sleepy, get to bed early, get up and eat a good big breakfast. Try porridge with fruit, wholegrain toast and peanut butter, omlette, wholegrain cereal and smoothies- its so important not to skip breakfast- no matter how nervous and sick you feel! It really boosts concentration. Also, take a high energy snack with you, such as a small chocolate bar or a banana.
A good breakfast containing protein, like bacon, eggs, cheese, beans etc. will give you more energy than starches. Just eat a well balance meal for dinner. Athletes, like runners, bulk up on carbs both at breakfast and dinner.
I would suggest the following breakfast.
4 oz. Orange Juice
Oatmeal
One egg or Egg substitute with turkey bacon
Whole grain toast with low fat cheese
low fat milk
EDIT: For dinner I would suggest a fatty fish high Omega 3, like salmon, herring or tuna. Canned is fine if you can’t get fresh. Add a bowl of whole grain pasta with your favorite red sauce and a hearty salad dressed with heart healthy olive oil and a vinegar, I prefer red wine or balsamic vinegar.
Answer by La Vie BohemeThe dinner doesn’t matter, it’s the breakfast you have the day of the exam that matters.
