Cooper Statham: What are some careers in the fashion industry that do not require you to be an artist/designer type?
I know that sounds confusing and stupid but…
I love clothes and fashion, even though I’m not artistic or the designer type. I just wanna be around the fashion industry. I’m planning on majoring in business, or marketing in college, so what jobs in fashion could I get with either of those? I love fashion more than anything and I want to be around it

WRITE about fashion and clothing– go into journalism. Become a model? Become a model’s assistant? There’s really not much to do, except to maybe just go into business/marketing and hope that you make it big so that you can buy fashionable pantsuits for your business meetings.
It actually makes perfect sense xD
If you like writing, being a fashion magazine editor could be fun. I’m also pretty sure there’s a Fashion marketing major at many colleges.
Hope this was helpful 🙂
Answer by Brithere’s plenty of jobs out there, sure the designer actually makes the clothes but there are all of the people who make the designer famous so a major in marketing is probably a good idea. a few suggestions include an editor for a fashion magazine, think the devil wears prada, or a writer for a fashion magazine who writes about the clothes or maybe an assistant for a designer where you could book fashion shows and models and stuffAnswer by Bohogurl27

you can become a buyer for stores or work as a sales rep. as a buyer you get to choose clothing for stores- which can be a lot if hard but brings a lot of pressure. sales is just as pressured, and buyers get paid more.Answer by Grace

You’re on the right track! I’m a graduate of Fashion Design from 1993 and a lot of my friends went on to become fashion buyers, marketing experts, and fashion magazine editors. You definitely have to study and keep up with the fashion industry and then your expertise will be highly sought after by stores and fashion firms for your business/marketing skills… good luck!
