yay: Why does United Airlines have two different airplain’s colors (Gray and white)? Which one is new? Old?
There are ones with white on 1st layer and ocean blue on the 2nd layer.

There are ones with gray on the 1st and dark blue on the 2nd layer.

The gray livery is older. The white and blue one is newer.

The reason for the difference is simply that United decided that they wanted a new look. The gray livery had been in use for a number of years. However, it takes a few years for all of the aircraft to go through regular maintenance and be repainted. They don’t pull aircraft out of service just to paint them as quickly as possible. It’s too disruptive to schedules and costs too much money.
