TheApostleJudas: How can I “train” my baby to lie on his stomach?
The back of his head is starting to go flat, so I’ve been trying like hell to get him to lie on his stomach. But every time I do, he screams and screams and screams. I know that should be a situation where I say “tough luck”, but how am I supposed to let his head get the right shape? I can’t just let him cry on for hours all day long.

You’re funny! I wouldn’t think this is a ‘tough luck’ situation. Your child is young and some babies don’t like to be on their tummy just yet. Why don’t you sit him up in your lap for a bit if you’re so concerned about head shape?
Well, for sleep I would actually say you are really lucky that he lays on his back at all! our daughter wouldn’t sleep unless on her belly- she would literally scream and scream for as long as we left her on her back. during the day you can keep him on his belly for tummy time and sit up up more so the head has a chance to change shape, but otherwise, consider yourself lucky that you have a baby who sleeps in the suggested safe position and you don’t have to worry about sids as much as we did!Answer by babystuff
try letting him have his tummy time on you or da da you wouldnt want to do it for hours at a time at first anyways just a few minutes a few times a day and work your way up from there just put his tummy on yours and lie back on the floor or bed thats what i did with my son anyways and he hated his tummy timeAnswer by Bay Bomber **Carson’s Mumm
Instead of having tummy time, have “mummy time”. He’ll love looking down at you and will think it’s funny!
How old is your baby? If he’s older than 2 months, let him sit in a bouncy seat or a swing, that will keep his head from going flat.
if he’s really young, just hold him. My little girl loved being held chest to chest with her head under my chin when she was a newborn.
Answer by sammyyyPardon my ignorance — but how old is your baby? Americans write their date format differently to the British (i’m in the UK) — so going by your name your baby (to me) is 4 months? Or 2? Lol, i’m so sorry.
It’s normal for infants to have a slightly flat head — but like someone else said, have you tried having him on your tummy? When you put him on his tummy, do you place a rolled up towel under his arms to sort of give him leaverage? Do you place toys around him? Lots of noise, colours etc to stimulate him?
If he’s 4 months — have you tried sitting him up? Propped of course — just to take some “pressure” off the back of his head.
