Patient Sailor reborn: Times are tough, working harder for less? How many vacations have you taken this year?
I travel around this country three weeks each month. I need to do this because our economy is so…. lets say it has felt the effects of “change”.

I have not had a vacation in over two years. I had one ready to go but all this “hope” has made me adjust my lifestyle.

So, anyone else knock down 6 vacations this year…….So far?

my work gives me 4 weeks off.

that could be 1 4-wk vacation or 20 1-day vacations.

If you are referring to the president, very seldom do presidents take vacation where they do no work. They just take it along with them. When they leave the country, they often meet with world leaders to discuss issues as did Michelle Obama when she was in Spain meeting with the Spanish royal family in an official capacity.

I am very fortunate, more so then others. Our business is going great and we own a lakefront cottage up north that we can go to almost every weekend.

I haven’t had a vacation since I spent 4 days in Mexico in 1991… but I’m not President Obama, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs or anybody else with the money and opportunity to vacation. Life isn’t fair and people – all kinds of people – take vacations. I have a friend who spends a month every summer with her family in south-west France. Good for her. She always returns with interesting stories and pictures to share with the rest of us. I’m not much for vacations, crowds of tourists and hotels and would rather spend time in very quiet places away from people.

Umm..i think i am the lucky one.! i went to Germany ,France, Scandanavia, Austria, and some more european countries this January. i think i have enough of vacations for next 12 months. 🙂
