~Nikki: Those who believe in God- How can YOU explain “unconditional love”? *read*?
I know I’ll get sarcastic answers too, but those who believe I want to see if you can really define by human what “unconditional love” is like in your own words? What can you really refer it to? Can humans really ever feel true unconditional love for as long as they’re on Earth going through everyday life as long as our existence is here? I kinda always wondered this.
Also Happy Easter!:)

what?
It’s all relevant. If everyone on earth loved their toasters, but you loved a man/woman, your love would be unconditional, for it’s not what everyone else considers the norm.Answer by ven

I don’t think humans can do that…we all have something we are trading our love for.

Unconditional love. It’s when a mother will do anything for her child, no matter what they’ve done or how bad they are. It’s when a spouse catches his/her partner cheating on them but loves them still enough to stay with them and work out the problems. These are a few examples of humans exercising unconditional love that i can think of. However, of course nothing can compare to the unconditional love that the Father had for his children in sending his only son to die for us.Answer by micah
From the Bible, God’s friendship is conditional. Please consider these few scriptures. Joh 15:13 No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul in behalf of his friends.
Joh 15:14 YOU are my friends if YOU do what I am commanding YOU. Jas 4:4 therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God. And there is no Scripture in the Bible where God’s love is spoken of as unconditional. However he has loved us first by giving us life. The Scripture at John 14:21 let’s us in on how God will love us. He that has my commandments and observes them, that one is he who loves me. In turn he that loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will plainly show myself to him.”
Free will let’s us make any choice we want, however, if we would like to live forever we must look to this Scripture for Gods promise. Joh 3:36 He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; he that disobeys the Son will not see life. And this is also the most comforting Scripture in my mind in the whole Bible. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.John 3:16. I would rather live my life as if there is a God,
And die to find out there isn’t, than live my life
As if there isn’t, and die to find out there is.
The love of God, as stated in the Old and New Testaments, is rich, it abounds, it fills the earth, is unfailing, is faithful, is steadfast, it endures forever, is great, is higher than the Heavens, it surpasses knowledge, is better than life. It is comforting and reassuring to hope that God’s love is unconditional .
He will always forgive us, if we are repentant. Only the God of love can do that for those who have chosen to be His people.
God’s love, then, should be considered conditional upon repentance.
So God’s love is not unconditional. If God’s love were unconditional, there would be no Hell and all the unrepentant sinners, no matter how evil, would go to Heaven. So, what is God’s love if it’s not unconditional? It is covenantal. This means that if we want to continue to experience His love, we have to meet His conditions. God’s love is eternal, it is constant, but He makes it absolutely clear what He loves and what He hates, and whom He loves and whom He hates. That God’s love is unconditional is a modern deception invented by the devil; it is designed to blur our vision so that we can join him in the underworld.
