It’s not easy to find an other job than teaching. And if you find a job like gardening, cleaning, building stuff you will get a salary that is not enough for a normal living. You will begin around 5000 baht for a full month work.
Of course there are jobs that pay better, but you have to very lucky to get in.
Friends are very important in Thailand. If you have a big network you can get a job maybe. That’s how I got a teaching job and some hours as a DJ at a radio station.
So my advise is to try to expand your network in Thailand.
So good luck finding a job.
Answer by theymademedoitUnless you get a work placement with a company ,teaching is one of the few options available.
It`s sad ,but it`s the way this country operates. It`s a very short sighted view, and part of the reason Thailand will stay a developing country.
They waste so much talent that enters the country. You could have a Chemical Engineering degree or something ,and still end up in a teaching job.Very short sighted place in some respects.
I always think a good example is the Bangkok skyline.Look at how just `unmemorable`and bland it is.Why?Cause they use Thai architects to design the buildings, and they have little or no imagination alot of the time-where as you compare to London ,New York etc where they commission buildings from foreign architects (Who ever comes up with the best design, regardless of nationality)
Other thing you can do is get married to a Thai girl and start a business (Bit of an extreme way to find work though)
Answer by brushstrokes1313I think theymake doesn’t know what is he talking about. I would say you could find an entry level jobs, but it depends on your skill. If you are a foreigner who speak Thai you can get a role/part in a Thai movie or drama (and may be a strong network) If you are a news correspondence you could work as a journalist or reporter/writer. you can work in a law firm if you qualified as attorney, you can work as a translator if you know other language besides English and you are a certified translator. You can try an embassy if you have connection. Computer science is other option for you. Artist and DJ. are also the option. You could have done volunteer jobs if you don’t want to get paid that much. Or you could try a pharmaceutical field. Or may be photography or fashion industries. Scuba diving instructor,if you qualified.
If you have no degree or skill you gotta be smart or have money so that yo can open up your business like Tourist industry, restaurant, bars ,bread and breakfast or small business like clothing store. You can also doing a Jewelery business, There’s a lot of opportunities everywhere is you know where to look for it. There are lots of expatriates live in Thailand and make a good living or survive.Cheers
