: What pets can live in some cold temperatures?
I live in a rented out basement and I really want a pet. Unfortunately during the winter it gets too cold in order to have a cat, dog,or hamster/guinea pig of any kind. Are there any pets that could live in basement like temperatures such as 35 degrees Fahrenheit other than turtles and snakes?

penguins
An animal with a heavy coat of fur. Actually, nature would provide adequate protection for any dog or cat, but if you want a pet made for that kind of temperature, Pomeranians do well, huskies are made for cold weather, chow chow, and long haired cats like pursians. In fact, they will snuggle up to you and keep you warm. Turtles and snakes can survive, but they would just hibernate in cold temps.Answer by TicTac
fish? you can buy a heater, but still that would be kinds expensive with the tempature so low :p you should wait until you have a warmer place. Rats maybe? in the wild some live in cold places tooAnswer by Samantha
certain breeds of rabbits, such as holland lops that are accustomed to below freezing temp. Also, some breeds of dogs would be fine in that weather such as siberian huskies, saint bernards and others with fur coats such.Answer by lannora
