Gigi: How much of our taxes are payed by teens?
I don’t want to know how much the average teen pays, just how much money in taxes are by teens or a percent.
Let me rephase my question: How much money that the U.S now possess was once owned by teens.

Virtually none–most of them get it all back at tax refund time.
The only taxes teens pay, are sales tax and taxes from goods, or services rendered from a company..as a teen you don’t make nearly enough to have to pay taxes at the end of the year.
You could make $ 20,000 a year, and STILL don’t make enough to pay at the end of the year, that’s why you get a tax return, because the taxes they took out of your pay throughout the year are more than they should have taken when you have a low tax bracket hence “tax return”
Answer by xtraheavy01Teen spend by far the most money in our economy per capita.
But the do not pay as much. they do not earn enough. Most get refunds.Answer by Byrne H
Either close to none (if you count the total amounts paid each year, less refunds) or negative (if you consider the huge amount of money teens get due to subsidized schools).
Your rephrasing changes things. If the government gets $ 1 million in taxes, 10% of which comes from teens, and pays out $ 900,000 of that, does it not possess $ 100,000 from teens, $ 10,000 from teens, or $ 0 from teens? You could justify any of these. And how do you deal with the fact that the government runs at a loss? The equivalent would be that it takes in $ 1 million in taxes and pays out $ 1,100,000, and teens don’t buy many T-bills.
If you’re asking what teenagers contribute to the economy, the answer is: not much. However, you should keep in mind that they’re economically unproductive now because they spend much of their time in school where, in theory, they’re learning to do something useful and valuable later on.
