Are there any tattoo artists out there that can help me and let me know what it takes to become a successful tattooer? And where I should start and such

First of all you have to have raw talent, it would help to go to an art college. When you are 17, go to tattoo shops with a portfolio and ask if they offer apprenticeships. If they are looking for an apprentice they’ll probably ask you to draw things off the top of your head, like roses and skulls etc. If you get accepted its around 5 months of solid drawing, cleaning, and tea making :’). Then you get onto tattooing fruit and fake skin, it can take around 1 – 3 years to start tattooing people and getting paid!
I would definitely flourish your artistic ability and keep practicing. Try different mediums and such. Visit local area shops and talk with the artists, maybe watch them do their tattooing if allowed.
Inquire about doing an apprenticeship to become a tattoo artist. Most likely it will cost money but it’s worth it as long as your going to be learning something in your apprenticeship.
As far as courses are concerned I would just take up just as much art classes that you can, they definitely are a plus and help a lot in the tattoo industry knowing how to do certain elements of drawing and art.
I hope all is well in your endeavors and that you do fantastic with whatever you choose to do.
Go Luck and the Best of Wishes.
