Yellow belly 24: What type of bike is best for steep hills and woodland?
I want to go cycling in the woods and was wandering what sort of bike would be best. I already have a mountain bike, is that the right kind. I need a new one though it keeps falling to pieces.

Mountain bike is what you want. I got a Diamonback since 1988 or so, no shocks needed. do regular maintenance.

If you ride off the road, on trails…. yes, it is the correct bike. If it is on packed roads and graded trails… smooth…. then a hybrid or cycle cross might do for you as well. But, it limits what you could do if you wanted to go off road!
