clumsyguy: Should it be called a “Christmas Tree” or a “Holiday Tree”?
Don’t you think changing everything to “happy holidays” or calling it a “Holiday Tree” is getting a little carried away?

Political correctness gone too far.
I think the only way we can satisfy everyone is to create a new holiday. I nominate Festivus.
Answer by GEORGIOI THINK IT SHOULD BE CALLED CHRISTMAS TREE,NOT HOLIDAY TREE. YOU CAN’T CALL IT HOLLOWEEN TREE OR MEMORIAL DAY TREE, LABOR DAY TREE,NEW YEARS TREE OR THANKS GIVING TREE, ETC. UNLESS YOU CALL IT “HOLIDAY TREE OF CHRISTMAS” BUT THEN WE ARE AT STEP ONE AGAIN.IT’S A TREE ESPECIALY FOR CHRISTMAS, LET’S CALL IT AS IT IS. WHAT’S NEXT, SATAN CLAUSE, JINGLE HELL’S.WELL, I RESPECT PEOPLES OPINIONS, BUT LET’S LEAVE THIS CHRIST THING ALONE. THERE ARE SO MUCH BAD THINGS GOING ON THIS WORLD, LET’S FOCUSE ON THEM. “MERRY CHRISTMAS” “GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS”Answer by Didacted
The Christmas (or holiday) tree is a much older tradition than Christmas itself in most of Northern Europe. It dates back to the Old Ways. The pagan religions of Germany worshipped nature gods represented by the evergreen tree in the winter. To avoid persecution for their belief the trees were moved in doors. In Germany it is called a ‘Tennenbaum’.
The Christmas (or holiday) wreath was a secret symbol hung on the door of a house to others who followed the Old Ways when conquering Christian occupiers persecuted pagans. The Celtic and Gaulic pagans used holly and mistletoe.
Very little evidence remains from the Old Ways because their were no sacred texts. But all of the popular Western Holidays are really celebrations on the dates of the followers of the Old Ways. Christmas is the pagan New Year. Easter is the rite of Spring and Halloween (or Thanksgiving) is the harvest festival.
So there you go. Trees, wreaths, The Winter Solstice Festival, Mistletoe and Holly are all not Christian at all but symbols of pagan gods.
Answer by mustangmamaDefinately CHRISTmas tree. A small minority are speaking up and deciding how the majority should live. The rest of us need to stand up and remind them that this country was founded on christian principles. They can’t deny it. Look at the lives of the founding fathers. Read the scriptures engraved all over our capital. They are removing our rights one at a time. We already are not allowed to pray or post the ten commandments . They are removing “under God” from our pledge. Christmas is a Christian holiday , celebrating the birth of Christ. Definately, a Christmas tree. Merry CHRISTmas.
