Answer by DeborahJapanese people have quite a few national holidays and very few personal holidays. The national holidays are days when almost everyone is off work and that is why trains and highways are crowded. Japanese people seldom take personal days off and even try to fly on the weekend when they take business trips.Answer by Ellie
holidays in japan, it is about 90days to 130days a year.
it depends on company they work
we take days off saturday and sunday(its common all over the world?)
and some vacation in May , its called Golden Week
and a few days vacation in the middle of August called Obon Yasumi
then, we take vacation year end to 4th or 5th in January called Shougatsu Yasumi
week end 104 days
GW and Obon and Shougatsu holidays are 5days to 10days (different every year)
and 12 days national holidays
we have much holidays , i think
but some business person are asked to work on a holiday.
you might be asking me why.
Its Japan lol
this is why old japanese business men were called Worker Bee
most of people work overtime and holidays work
but nowadays ,because of this economic crisis , we japanese do not have to work long time , naturally , it is decreasing to work on a holiday.
and there is paid vacation system, but most of business person can not use them. because of an stmosphere of company.
Its been the big problem for employees
so It cause big trafic jam on GW and Obon holidays
because we take a vacation at the same time.
This is Japanese vacation condition.
Answer by JJ♥SHJapanish? It`s Japanese people…
N we don`t have that many vacations compared to the States. To answer your question, about 2 weeks of vacation in the whole year. This mainly applies to the working group.
The main holiday is Golden Week and it`s a time when Japanese tend to travel. Golden Week consists of these holidays: Constitution Day, Greenery Day and Children`s Day (May 3,4,5.) N there`s also Obon, which is a Buddhist holiday and is different from regions of Japan. It`s about a week and celebrated either in mid-July or mid-August.
Other vacations:
-New Year`s Day (January 1)
-Coming of Age Day(January 12)
-National Foundation Day (February 11)
-Vernal Equinox (March 20)
-Sho-wa Day (April 29)
