So!: Does your cat eat the sauce first and walkaway to come back later to eat?
One of my cats does this, and then the second cat goes to the sauce lickers food bowl and eats it. So, I always have one hungry cat later in the day.

My cats won’t even eat the chunks. They only want the gravy. LOL

Sounds like a double curse to me. Its a terrible thing when people attempt to curse others. It often returns to them.

Perhaps kitty likes dry food. Our Ms.Grey doesn’t like wet cat food at all. When I read about licking sauce that is why I am writing here. My orange tabby Sandy loves Food period!! So dry or wet works great for him. Oreo is the same way too.
One other favorite in our home is jars of baby food by Gerber the meat kind turkey seems to be the biggest favorite here and veal too and beef. Be cautious on what you feed kitty.
My children got the mgtffffffff oops baby Max is helping write here to. Max is a little fellow with whiskers he was found in the bitter cold and weighed only two.five here well two pounds and five ounces.well what the teens got the big kid cats to enjoy is beef jerky original.
my favorite well their favorite food is lams Digestive (it’s in a pink bag) no more upset tummies here. Some dry foods made them vomit.

That’s why I don’t buy food that has chunks in sauce. Better quality foods aren’t like that. They’re either a paté consistency or real pieces of chicken or fish – not processed chunks of who knows what. Merrick’s, Tiki Cat and Weruva are the three my cats prefer. Note, too, that a lot of the recalled foods were these “chunks in gravy” foods so I highly advise against feeding your cats that grocery store/WalMart garbage.
