: How to respond to “Tell me about it”?
hi guys im new to English language so i would like you to tell me what should i say when a person tells me “tell me about it” ???

me:Oh its been a really bad day!
her:Tell me about it.
me:????

The girl wants to know what happened to make it a bad day.

It matters how it is said. If the person is curios about your day, tell them about it. Sometimes it’s just like saying “I know how you feel.” and you don’t need to respond to that.

It means “I’ve had a bad day too!” The person is being sympathetic, but probably not really asking you to explain why it’s been a bad day.
