According to what you told us, you can be in pretty much every religion. You gave us no details at all, and instead went on complaining about why there were so many different religions.Answer by Jen

Sweety, you are better off NOT believing in religion nor God. Religion and God complicates things… I mean, look, you are even confused.Answer by GlobalWisdom
In popular religions (Christianity, Islam..etc) God makes us suffer to test us. To test our patience. To test our reactions. To see if we will handle an issue by the way he wants us or not. Of course, he already knows the answer. But this is so we get judged properly..Answer by Silent
No one has to choose to be part of a religion. I don’t, for instance. Why label yourself at all? Just be who you are and believe what you believe.Answer by krav3n4sumk

You would be classified as Agnostic. It means someone who believes in God, has their own moral compass, but does not subscribe to any particular organized religion.Answer by snetlaV
weather there was or there was no church in this world, I will still believe there is someone who created the universe!!! and he is the one I call God!
he gives us all the knowledge so that we can choose what is right or wrong!!
Answer by momrfg2003God allows us to make choices and we don’t always make the right ones. We are to blame for much of the evil in the world and one day God will fix it. It’s His patience that has stayed His hand; he is not willing for anyone to perish.
Religion is man’s attempt to reach God. God provided a way for us to reach Him by sending His Son to pay a debt we could not pay. You do not have to choose a religion, but you do need to choose for or against God.

To me, you sound like a sort of theistic agnostic. Agnostics usually think that there is no way to prove one set of beliefs over another, and that it is pointless to pick a side. Some agnostics are tilted to atheism or theism in the respect that they think that it is likely there is a God, or it is doubtful, but they are agnostics nevertheless.Answer by untildeathdueuspart
You can be catholic but this world is very cruel and i hate it too but God can not control us so people are different and very greedy and that is why we have crime and even government, because we need help and protection, if we were all perfect we would not need a gov. or anything it would be heaven but that is why some say that this world IS Hell.Answer by Dillicious
religion is bullshit
They cant all be right can they?
the answer is no
Well ok where is the evidence that they are right?
Oh that is right, they dont have any outside of their own doctrines
Religion is man’s attempt to explain the unknown without using evidence

Answer by TamiKayBIf you believe Jesus is the son of god and died for our sins, you are a Christian.
Religion is a man made ideal created to help people deal with death. People can’t handle it if they think their departed loved one is just in the ground and not in “heaven”. So they tell theirselves there are pearly gates and streets paved with gold….
Just be a good person and the universe will give it back to you.
Answer by CathyI would love to give you advice. Look for Jehovah Witness near your area they have a beautiful book called What does the bible really teach and it has a section on Why does god allow sufferment. I recommend it to you 100%. The whole book is based on the bible, the bible texts are there and all.Answer by nina <3
I consider myself a Christian, but I feel just like you.
The bible explains it, but I narrow it down to free will. God gave it to us and we have abused it. Now we suffer.
I’d say Christian but that’s just me

Your description of yourself is far to general to be considered desciptive of any of the major religions.
My best desciption of a person like yourself would be a secular pluralists.
Secular becuase you do not subscribe to any particular one of the major religions.
Pluralist becuase it does not appear to me that you do not think any of the many religions are incorrect.
Answer by sockerfielderThere are so many things in this world that are so cruel and wrong because god gave us free will to do what ever we want. He gave us the freedom to choose how we want to live our lives and run our countries. There are so many different religions because people have so many different beliefs off of one belief in god. And you really don’t need to be classified in a religion. I don’t see my belief in god so much as by a religion, even though i am a christian, but i see it as a relationship between god and myself.Answer by Kay
There is a God. There is only one God, the God of the bible. People were created to be free, to make their own choices. To choose between bad or good actions. All people are sinful in nature… yup even the pope, mother teresa.. EVERYONE. Then God sent His only Son to die to save us from our sins. Religion is manmade. It is what man has interpreted as what God wants them to do. If you are interested in God and the Bible (which is His Word), then attend a ALPHA group in your area. It is non-denominational, not protestant, or Catholic or anything. Just bible basics. I am a Christian and I don’t believe in religion, just the BIBLE. Also when I first believed, I went from church to church until I found one that was right for me… one that taught what was in the bible and not a lot of rules that aren’t even in the bible at all. I’ll pray for you to find what you are looking for! :0)Answer by SccrGrl
God isn’t the reason that things are cruel and wrong. If there wasn’t a God, there wouldn’t be anything good at all in the world. There are so many different religions because that’s the beauty of human nature: diversity. Everyone doesn’t have to be part of a religion; you just decide what you believe in and that’s that. A religion is, I guess, whatever belief system you’re part of: Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, etc.Answer by NoIDontdance
There is evil in the world because God created mankind with self-determination, the ability to choose between different options. People often choose the option that they think gives them the best advantage, and that option often ends up in others getting hurt. If everyone chose the option God wanted them to, and the option He has offered to help them choose, then there would not be cruel and wrong. You would be classified as “seeking” which means you are responding to God’s invitation to a relationship with him. That is a great thing. I would encourage you to read a book entitled “Chasing Francis” by Ian Morgan Cron. And the Bible.Answer by MSB
First off… when you say “I try to live by what God wants,” what do you think God wants? How do you go about finding out what God wants?
– do you read the Torah? The Vedas? The Bible?
– If the Bible, do you believe it is literally God’s inerrant word, just symbolic, somewhere in between?
– do you meditate and look within, listen to your inner voice, etc.?
– do you look for signs, or to nature/the cycle of life, history, phsychology, etc.?
Why there has to be different religions: because all religions are just man-made ways of trying to relate to a Higher Power (or something they see as bigger than themselves, like a connection with ancestors, universal principles, etc.). There must be many different ones because so many of us think/understand things differently and have different needs in our lives that religion fills.
And you don’t have to choose to be part of any at all, really, or you don’t have to embrace only one– you can combine some or change paths. Some people believe there is only one way to reach the Higher Power, but most people believe it is a more personal journey/relationship that grows and changes with us.
Answer by Crystal BYou really don’t need a label. People have different religion because..well..for lack of better words; They believe there is a God but don’t quite agree on who he or she is or how to speak to him (thus different prayer techniques) or how he/she came to be. That alone mostly makes the differences for religions. As far what label you think you should fall under, given what little you provided (like if you believe in Christ or that he died for us ect..) I would say your best bet is pry nondenominational Christian. Which means you are a believer and you have faith but that you are not part of organgized religon.Answer by Gabriel
OK. i get what you are saying 100%. i am not trying to put down other eligions but I am christian. Most religions besides christians are man made like buddism is from buddha, and there is a lot more of man made religions. if you want to live by gods ways then you muist serve him in the right way. accept him in your life…Answer by Deadkiller

I leave things to happen as they may.
But you are not left alone.
And the reasons for things do exist.
When something “bad” happens, do you not notice that it only really changes your direction, and you end up doing something else, and maybe even slightly better this time than before?
Things that seem bad are really course adjusters…you will feel the pain of tearing away from the old, then the emptiness of needing new…but then that only serves to allow you to ENJOY that new when it comes.
And even the empty needful feeling is but a form of preying you do.
You are not alone and unloved.
And you are not without power to call things to you which you need for your trek through life.
If you want to hear from me listen to your inner voice, follow it, trust it, dont question it.
If you want to talk to me talk.
If you want to see me open your eyes wherever you are I am everywhere in everything, even the awful that cannot exist without the beautiful (which cannot exist without the awful.)
No day without night.
No joy without sadness to contrast it to.
Etcetera…
Understand?
Good.
Now go be happy and have a really nice rewarding evening for yourself being jovial with others and having fun.

And dont join a religion to find me. I don’t approve of the social clubs called religions. They are not about you communing with me in liufe, which is all that matters.
It is plenty for you to be spiritual.
It can be everything.
It is the working part of knowing yourself as part of me and all.
Go to the bookstore and get books on spirituality. Read my child, my precious child and keep an open mind.
You could be amazed at what things actually are which you have been told arent.
The world is the way it because of sin. Read the Bible and you will begin to understand. There is also a book called “Patriarchs and Prophets”. It explains why bad things happen in a really clear way. Regardless, just read the Bible and try to follow it. If you find a religion that matches what you read, then perhaps you might want to join that so you can share your beliefs with others. The important point is to pray, read the Bible and develop a personal relationship with God.Answer by nat
Your question points out how there are so many religions and that it doesn’t make sense for everyone to have to be a part of one. Then you ask how to do the same nonsensical thing to yourself, fit you into some religious classification.
You are on the right track in my opinion though. You want to live your life according to what’s right and wrong and you don’t buy into the false hope that there is one correct religion.
This belief is one of the most destructive forces that ever existed in the world, if you think about it. 🙁
Also, trying to believe in “GOD” as we know Him and knowing of the cruelties and atricities that exist at the same time was not possible for me. In the end, I could not believe in a being that would create us and let the things that happen take place. People find all sorts of excuses for this and you will hear people quote infuriating passages that don’t actually explain anything when you ask this question. In the end, my belief in God had to go and I am happy as an atheist.
I no longer think to myself that I will go to Heaven, therefore I don’t have the mindset that it doesn’t actually matter in the end if I die young, neglect to experience certain things, etc. I don’t do bad things, not because I am trying to obey God, but because there is no one to repent to and absolve myself of guilt. This life is the only one I have and I intend to live it to the fullest.
Hope this helps.
Answer by Dubster JWell, if you give someone a helping hand your not giving someone else a helping hand.
God helps those most needy. He can’t go around and help everyone.
For those who truly follow God, they will follow his lead. They will help others in need, those God cannot directly reach. Those people who have been helped can reach God themselves by helping others in need.
God wants you to concentrate on the things around you that you can control and affect, like you life and other people’s lives. There’s no point thinking about celebrities and such. Think of the God inside us (the one we can feel) and not the one discussed in all these forums.
