: MacDonalds !?!?!?!?!?
I’ve never worked in a fast food establishment. So I need to know some thing
Are the jobs in McDs ranked ? like, does the person on the front counter haev a higher paycheck, does that person need some kind of previous experience in other fastfood restaurant or had worked in a lower rank (if that exists)
IF you know the rank (if those exists)
Can you name them ? Can you also say who has to work more or who has higher salary.

Does working in McDs as part time allow you to have a dynamic schedule or its always static and you cannot do different shift ?
Thank you for your help.

The one where I work the grill area and service area are two separate but equal departments. You will only work in one. As far as the grill goes from most sought after to least here are the positions.
Initiator – Starts sandwiches/burgers (sauces lettuce pickles ect.)
Assembler – Finishes sandwiches/burgers (cheese then meat and wraps up or boxes)
Grill Cook – Grills food
Fried Products – deals with all fried products and toasts buns for initiator.
Since fried is the slowest sometimes one person will do both fried and grill.
+ salary is based on how long you’ve been there a 40 year old initiator makes the same as a 18 year old fry cook ( mangers make more and so do those with experience as with any other job)

There are Crew Members, Crew Trainers, Customer Service staff, hourly paid managers (shift running managers) and salaried managers (Business managers and shift managers)
Crew members are paid the basic wage (let’s say for example £5.98 an hour), Crew Trainers and Customer Service staff (who tidy up dining area, help out and greet customers, and clean the restrooms) would be on £6.58. Hourly paid managers are paid about £8-10 an hour, depending on experience. Salaried managers who generally run the restaurant and have a LOT of responsibilities, earn upwards of £25k a year, maybe a bit more. With the hourly paid employees (apart from managers) experience does not matter; everyone gets a similar wage. The main wage difference is dependent on age, and every year you get a performance review which decides whether you get a payrise. Most people usually get an annual rise of 2.5%
Part time, or full time crew members are trained in different areas (kitchen, front, lobby, drive-thru), and they tend to put you somwhere different each day, unless you shine in a particular area (for me it’s drive-thru and lobby, yuk!), then you will be put there all the time!
Answer by Dan CrawfordYes, jobs are ranked at McDonalds.
You will most likely start as a Crew Member, which pays the least, and a Crew Member is someone who works in the kitchen and the front counter (serving customers) – you don’t get paid more.
The next best paid position is Customer Care Assistant which some people start on, but most people will have previously been a Crew Member.
The next best paid position is being a Crew Trainer, which requires you to have worked there for a while, know how everything works, and train new starts.
Then it’s Shift Managers, who will manage shifts. They are the people who make sure there are enough burgers for the amount of customers, deal with problems.
Then you have the Assistant Managers, and the Business Manager, who run the store.
Your schedule will change all the time, but is very flexible. on each shift, you will change the area your in (unless your a customer care assistant), so one day you can work on the front counter, and the next be working in the kitchen. You could even do front counter before break, then kitchen after.
You don’t need any experience to be a Crew Member.
To be a Customer Care Assistant, then they usually only hire people who have worked in Customer Care previously, and more often than not, will try and promote from within. – But, being a crew member is better 😀
