A: How often should I give my puppy water?
I have a 13 week old puppy that has yet to be housetrained. But before you say it should be out 24/7, to housetrain you have to take your puppy out 15-30 minutes after it drinks every time, and we can’t follow the puppy around and do this every time it stops for a sip. So how often should we put out water?

Offer water at least every hour. Puppies, especially smaller breeds can dehydrate very quickly.
I leave an automactic water feeder for them down all the time. When my dogs where puppies i just had to watch them and when they went sniffing around i took them out.Answer by K.L.

I would put water down at least every half an hour. Even though we are currently potty training we leave water down always.Answer by MRHNJ
Water should be available at all times. Puppies should be watched that they don’t play in it instead of drinking it since that could create a bad habit later.Answer by alex c
If the puppy isn’t house trained, then you should probably just offer it about every hour. If your puppy is house trained, then you should always leave water out for it.Answer by africadreamer06
I would give it water at the three main mealtimes if you feed it three times a day, or you would offer when you get up, mid-day, and before you go to bed, as well as after activity.
If you are crate training, it’s even better. When you go to let it out for a while, you would offer water everytime.

Being an owner of a puppy means responsibility. This means taking your puppy out every 15 minutes if need be!
It isn’t a question of when to put the water out!Answer by Tat Girl
The puppy should have water ALL the time. If he/she pees on the floor discipline the dog (don’t be too mean though. just tap the dog on the butt and say “no! bad dog”. stuff like that.) and immediately take the puppy outside. She’ll get the hang of it. Thats how I always trained my dogs and I have hardly ever had a problem with accidents. It may take a few times but be patient its just a baby , it’ll learn lol. Good luck!!!

At this age, food and water 3x a day. Take him out of the crate and put him on the ground outside right away. Feed and water, play for 10 min, then back outside for another chance to use the bathroom before going back into the crate. Easy.Answer by Jade P
