Since I just got my bachelor’s degree in communications and am now looking for a job, I opened up a free linkedin account and need some help promoting myself online.

I would recommend making sure your profile is filled out completely and really sells who you are and what you do. It’s like wearing a good suit to an interview rather than a pair of ripped jeans. Additionally, make as many connections as you can with people you know. And when inviting them to connect, don’t just use the default text, write them a personal message. Once you have a good foundation of connections, start looking at their networks to see who they know that may benefit you and your job search and then ask for an introduction. Lastly, join some LinkedIn Groups and answer questions in the Answers section. This is a great way to network and get your name out there.
