So my parents picked me out a cell phone and I did all the research and they were just like, we’re getting pay as you go. And I barely get any minutes per month! I’m 16 and then they want to use it if they want to call someone… So I want a 2 year contract with Cingular. Right now, we’re paying $ 30 per month and we can do $ 30 a month with Cingular, so I’m like AARGH! My parents pay for it, but I’m cheap, so I’m always checking my balance and I’m like GRRR. I’ve also been begging to get a job. Yes, begging like every day. My mom finally said you can work at Hurricane Harbor, but nowhere else. I appreciate my parents, but they don’t think I do, but I just get so annoyed sometimes and lately, I’ve cussed and I’ve never done that anytime in my life cuz I’m just so MAD! My dad still won’t teach me how to drive and I wanna take this girl out and if I can’t drive, I’ll look like a RETARD to her and at school. My life is screwed up!
I know I’ve got it good compared to alot of people, but I want advice on my situation, not who to feel sorry for.

dont worry i have like the cell phone problem,..but mines credit they have to buy the card……but am 2 years younger..so yeag talk to them…about it…that ur growing…

Best bet is to talk to them. I know its painful but if you want to get what you want youre gonna have to do it. Be nice and try to see there side when you are talking to them. On the phone thing. I’d go with Verizon. I had Cingular and hated it but I guess that is just a preferance. Good Luck!!

Take a drivers course at school. If they dont have one there, look for one around where you live.

STOP COMPLAINING! Have you ever lived in Africa and talked with a 16 year old there? He doesn’t have 1/4 of what you have, including daily food and a simple roof above his head. Appreciate your parents for who they are and thank God everyday for what you already have.

bummer. ur parents r good parents im sure but she should let u get a job. convince her that u could bring in some money in the house and u wont have to beg them 4 money when u want something. do u hav a car? if u can tdrive, the car was a waste of money, sorry about ur dad not helpiing beg some more and prove to them how much and how bad u want these things. sorry about ur life bud. btw, switch 2 verizon wireless for cheaper deals and fewer dropped calls.

we have rules at my house. I have a job, 2 actually, and we can’t get phones till we’re 15 1/2. It stinks but then we have 2 have $ 120 saved up b4 we can get a phone and then we pay $ 30 a month. There is more 2 life than cellphones. And I’m sorry ’bout the whole drivin thing, that must b tough. Try and reason w/ ur parents, just don’t get so mad that u screw that up.

Maybe it might be a good idea to do your best even though I know it is extremely hard to tell your parents and show them in small ways everyday that you truly do appreciate them. As far as getting a job goes as long as your grades stay up during the school year I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t want to see you learn to work and be successful even with a job at McDonald’s at a young age. There are many things that having a job teaches a person. For example…time management, money management, and basic people skills. If all else fails just hang in there you only have 2 years left with them then you will be your own person who can make your own decisions. Oh and one more thing that I think might help you is for you to tell your parents that at least you don’t sneak out, use drugs, drink underage, and at least you don’t have a girl pregnant at 16.
