nursingsolutions4all: My son wants to learn computer programming. Any online suggestions for where to start?
He is ten years old and picks things up very quickly, so something for adults that doesn’t start off too complex may be appropriate. But if anyone knows of any sites that make learning programming fun for kids, that would be ideal (if such a thing exists). He ultimately wants to learn programming for games software. His favourite games are strategy, adventure and science-based games. Thanks for your help- I know next to nothing.

Python, and possibly Pygame. There are books for this, for instance here, https://inventwithpython.com/ and here’s a site with some links https://baheyeldin.com/technology/teaching-kids-programming.html
Alice was funded by Carnegie Mellon in an effort to bring young people into programming. It’s pretty neat, allows 3D models, and drag-and-drop input. Kids seem to really like it once they get the idea.
