Timothy D: my ipod will charge when it is attached to my computer, but the “found new hardware” does not come up and…
the ipod does not show up on itunes or under my computer, what can i do? btw it did work before how ever, it no longer works.

You could always, “Search for new hardware”.

but you need to make sure you iPod settings are set, so that your computer will automatically recognize your iPod.

Did you jailbreak?
Did you put water into the Sync opening?
Try to take it back to an Apple Store because its dead in batteries and you can’t really do much from your side, Apple will replace it. Most to all iPods come with a 1-year warranty.
