so i went on the microsoft today and i saw this backwards P looking thing were the stick of the P is 2 lines like this:|| and then the D part was filled in. i dont know how to get this off and its not letting me type. thanks!
it said that my keys were locked when i tried to type also

Microsoft is the name of a company. Are you talking about the Microsoft web site? If so, it sounds like there may be an issue with the language settings in your browser. What browser were you using at the time?Answer by Toby
You have formatting marks turned on. In Word 2007, you’ll se the same symbol on the “Ribbon” under the Home tab, Paragraph section. In earlier versions, I think it was View => options, and you have to turn off document formatting.
