PROBABLY BECAUSE There are double standards in the workplace.
Possibly, it depends, if you work really hard now, you can get it backAnswer by Harry
yes, those were 3 months a men could have been working,Answer by Meghan
They may dock 1/4 of your bonus due to the time you were not working. They could not give you a bonus as all. They could give you a full bonus. Legally, they are not under any obligation to give you a bonus at all for any reason. But if they give the rest of the company a bonus and not you, you have to prove it was because of the maternity leave to seek compensation. I’d just be grateful for any bonus you get.Answer by Alyssa’s mommy
Depends where you work and what kind of worker you are. Lots of places have a policy where full time employees who worked the full year get one amount and part time people and those who weren’t there the whole year get significantly less.
Many, many years ago when my husband and I worked for the same company, his Christmas bonus was double what mine was… kinda sucky, but he did put in the full 12 months so he deserved it.
Answer by mamaof3It shouldn’t but in actuallity yes it could. I took off 6 weeks with my son and then 1 week when he was 12 wks old b/c he had surgery. When bonus were given I was told that I wouldn’t be getitng one b/c I had been on leave for 7 weeks that year and the others had worked. IF that were to happen to me now I’d go to HR and file a complaint and then follow it up the chain but I was 12 years younger and hadn’t learned to stand up for myself yet.Answer by Tori
I recently just took off 3 months of maternity leave as well and I did get my quaterly bonus but the way my company does it is a percentage of the amount you earned, so because the amount I earned was less in that quarter than other employees, even though my rating was higher, I did get less but I still got one. If you get a yearly bonus they should factor in how many months you worked and what your earnings were and do a percentage of that.Answer by Chris
This shouldn’t affect your chances of receiving your bonus being that this is a legitimate reason. I would ask the payroll person in your human resources department regarding this to make sure, or the director of human resources or your manager.Answer by Chelsey Claus
I got my bonus delivered to my house via certified mail while I was on maternity leave.
It all depends on your company and their policies.
But I got one so there is a chance that you will get yours.
