And the desktop thing for my internet explorer has gone and isn’t anywhere on my laptop…do I have to download it again or what?! I have no idea what I’ve done! Cause I never told it to delete them things!

umm internet explorer u cant delete it first. and second Restore is a restore means everything gets to be deleted.
If you created a restore point on the day you did a system restore, then try to go back to that date. If not, you can try choosing an earlier restore point or just reinstall the driver for your sound card. You should have a CD that contains that driver. If not, make sure you know the name of your sound card and just search for it online. Some drivers are downloadable.Answer by Spanky Mc Cranky
It seems to me like you broke it…..No biggie, Just go buy another one….If it acts up just repeat the process till you get it right…. Trial by error….Answer by b0rnbad
If you did an actual “System Restore” from the disk that came from the manufacturer, you wiped out your whole hard drive.
Internet explorer should still be there though, look in programs, find the icon for it, right click, and select “send to desktop as a shortcut”. As far as sound is concerned, you may need to go into the control panel, click on “sounds and audio devices” and make sure your audio device is listed.
If you still need help, email me and I’ll walk you thru the rest.
