Uf this laptop only has 64 meg of ram then more than likely the processor is not that good either and you may not have very good graphics….back then laptops still did not have the intergated graphics processors on them.
If this is an older laptop then I would upgrade the memory but you still may not get really good graphics….
might not be worth it…..I’d think about it some more
Graphics depends on the the graphics card…if it has it’s own memory (not intergrated) then it shouldn’t be affected.
64MB on the other hand…is basically nothing. 256MB is considered super slow. It depends on what you want to do with your laptop. But my suggestion would be to save up a little (it won’t cost much more!) and get at least 512MB RAM if you’re not going to be doing anything heavy on the machine.
Basically the laptop must be pretty old…overall, I assume the processor and graphics card can’t be too great. Why not save up a little and buy a newer one?

Answer by Patrickif ur buying a laptop with 64mb of ram, then the quality of the whole thing will be bad (no offence). but u cant do alot with 64 mb of ram.Answer by imagenopuesta
if you end up buying it, its a must that you get at least 512GB of RAM. So be sure you’ll be able to do the upgrade first!
Nowadays, the applications and software are getting very complex and hardware demanding, so in order to get proper processing response times within computers, you must have good hardware.
A cheap way to go, is to use Linux as your operative system, in which case I’d recommend you to use PCLinuxOS (www.pclinuxos.org).
If you stick to your 64MB pc, then forget about using windows Vista, and maybe start getting the idea of using Windows 2000.
Running Windows XP may work but really slowly!!
Answer by Ron MA 64 meg machine will barely run Win98 and would be better running Win95. There would be no ram left to operate programs.
This sounds a really old machine and I suggest that unless you just want it for it’s antique value, don’t buy it.

That is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!
Don’t buy it, you could do almost nothing on that.Answer by Jenny
That will not have good graphics. If it were just “video RAM” that would be different… I recommend that you look for at least 1 GB of RAM for decent graphics. My current laptop has 768MB of RAM, plus 64MB of Video RAM and it just “okay”. My new laptop has 2GB of RAM and 512MB of Video RAM and has amazing graphics.
Good luck making your choice! What brands are you looking at and what is your budget? That might help us to make some suggestions…
Answer by Francis Hyou are going to need more ram for you PC to operate rightAnswer by Ross
Probably but i would not recommend getting a laptop with 64mb of ram and you say graphics well if you use it for gaming then it will be way to low you need at least 384mb of ram and most applications such as Office 2007 and Adobe Photoshop need that amount of ram.Answer by Dolente`
512 MB is the norm nowadays (well for me should I say) what are you looking to use it for?
64 MB is referring to the storage space available to you if you are downloading tons of stuff and writing a novel in that case 64MB is not enough space for you and you will have to runthe disk clean-up more often as well was the disk defragmenter – which takes forever might I add. And yes this could effect your performance of your computer
BUT——–
On the other hand…something else that is very important is
Mega-Hertz, which means million cycles per second.
What this tells you is the speed of the clock driving the computer’s processor. This clock or crystal has high and low voltage changes, and changes at an exact frequency. Each time the clock changes, the computer’s processor processes some part of an instruction.
So, a computer that has a 500MHz clock is doing something 500 million times per second. A 1GHz computer does something 1 Billion times per second.
Good luck I think this (computer) and purchasing a car is far worse than buying a house these days!
