If you are converting, you should not keep your ‘other’ religious symbols around. Also, to truly convert you must actually believe in that religions convictions. The bible says that you will be punished if you are a false witness.

Never change religions just because some one else wants you to. Be true to yourself. If she can’t accept you for who you are you shouldn’t get married.Answer by lizzi9983
when i was in school we were taught that muslims were allowed to marry christians and jewish ppl who have the same ppl in there history they have abraham and Jesus and they just add mohammed. So I dont see why you would have to ? Plus I agree with the guy who said that becoming a fase witness will mean damnition and would she be worth that? I understand that they are strict and probealy doesnt care about her happiness if they would right her off if you didnt change your religions. Look behind God she should support and you should number 1 poperioty and she has has to know that. and you cant be something your not you wont be happyAnswer by Xanadu

you should be true about it…i say learn about islam and convertAnswer by eryops
That’s sounds like what is called “conversion by coersion”. If you convert, are you thinking you will suddenly be able to change your beliefs in order to please others? Do you think everything will be just fine? Are you willing to alter your faith in such a way as to say everything you used to believe is entirely wrong? It may be the beginning of more problems than you can imagine. Islam does not allow your philosophy of “believing in all religions”.
You may end up living a lie, which can make your life extremely difficult depending on where you are. Be very careful. Only do this if you reject your current religion and believe within yourself that your fiance’s religion better meets your spiritual needs.
Answer by FKspeaksFirst thing you need to do, yes you should ask them.
However what you should know about Islam, is that Islam never push anyone to convert and do anything radical (especially kill…what makes you think so, really?) about it.
But you may also have to know that for marriage, Islam is strictly forbid mixture of two religion under one institution (marriage itself). I think that’s why her parents are demanding it, because of the rule.
So if you don’t want to convert, then there won’t be any marriage after all.
In the true concept of Islam too, to convert/to hold the religion, you have to believe and put all faith into what Islam holds. So if you still want to keep your religion and idol after you ‘converted’, it’s really not my idea to suggest you.
So if you still want to ask them, and from your story that they’re quite strict (IF in the true concept of Islam), you might also have found your answer.
My suggestion is if you are not certain enough about what you’re jumping into, please do hesitate and try to ask / learn more about true Islam and its concept (exmpl: from the expert in islam religion, not public opinion). Or perhaps you can be open to her parents about your hesitation, but you need to confirm that the reason you’re asking the question is just because you don’t understand, and are willing to understand more. If you have good deeds, I’m sure good things will come your way.
And bring your girlfriend with you so both of you can support each other’s back. I wish both of you good luck.

HINDU’S HOLY BOOKS ACCEPT HOLY PROPHET MOHAMMAD’S (PBUH) EXISTENCE
In Hindus book “ KALKI AUTAR “ means “ THE LAST PROPHET “ is an authentic book in HINDUS, so many PANDITS verified it, signifies towards HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him).
Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhyay, a Hindu professor, in his stunning book claims that the description of the” Avatar” found in the Holy books of the Hindu religion, matches the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PUBH). Recently in India, a fact-revealing book has been published. The Book has been the topic of discussion and gossip all over the country. The author of this book, Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhyay, is a learned and famous Hindu professor. The book is Kalki Avatar. Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhyay is a Hindu Brahmin of Bengali origin. He is a research scholar at Allahabad University. After years of research, he published this book, and no less than eight pundits have endorsed and certified his points of argument as authentic. According to Hindu belief, the Hindu world awaits “the guide and leader”, named Kalki Avatar. However, the description as given in the holy scriptures of the Hindu points only to the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) of Arabia. Therefore, the Hindus of the whole world should not wait any longer for the arrival of Kalki Avatar (the spirit) and should readily accept Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as Kalki Avatar. These are the FACTS verified and supported by eight other eminent pundits. What the author says is that Hindus, who are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Kalki Avatar, are simply subjecting themselves to never ending pain. Because, such a great messenger has already arrived and departed from this world fourteen centuries ago.
The author produces the following sound evidences from the Vedas and other holy books of the Hindu religion in support of his claim:
1. In the Puranas (Hindu scriptures), it is stated that Kalki Avatar would be the last messenger of God in this world. He would be for guidance of the whole world and all human beings.
2. According to a Hindu religion prediction the birth of Kalki Avatar would take place in an isle, which again according to Hindu religion is Arab Region.
3. In books of Hindus, the names of the father and the mother of Kalki Avatar are given as VISHNUBHAGAT and SUMAANI respectively. If we examine the meaning of these names we shall come to some very interesting conclusion. VISHNU (meaning God) + BHAGAT (meaning Slave). Slave of God = ABDULLAH (in Arabic) is the name of Prophet’s (PBUH) Father.
SUMAANI (meaning peace or calmness).Aamenah (in Arabic means peace) is the name of Prophet’s (PBUH) Mother.
4. In the religious books of Hindus, it is mentioned that the staple food of Kalki Avatar would be dates and olives and he would be the most honest and truthful person in the region. Without any doubt the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is acclaimed to possess these qualities.
5. It is stated in Vedas (holy book of Hindu Religion) that the birth of Kalki Avatar would take place in an honorable clan. This perfectly fits the Quraysh where Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) belonged to.
6. God would teach Kalki Avatar through His messenger (angel) in a cave. Allah taught Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) through His messenger Jibraeel (Gabriel), in a cave known as Ghaar-e-Hira.
7. God would provide Kalki Avatar with a very speedy horse to ride and travel the whole world and the seven skies. Indication of burraq (Horse) and Me’raaj (the night when Prophet [PBUH] travelled the seven skies).
8. God would provide Kalki Avatar with divine help. This was particularly proved in the Battle of Uhud.
9. Another dazzling account given about Kalki Avatar was that he would be born on the 12th of a month. Whereas the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was born on the 12th of Rabbi ul Awwal (Hijra Calendar).
10. Kalki Avatar would be an excellent horse rider and a swordsman.
The author here draws the attention of Hindus that the real days of horses and swords have gone and the present time of guns and missiles. So it would be foolish on the part of those who still expect Kalki Avatar, who should be an excellent rider and swordsman to come. In fact, the divine book, the Holy Qur’an, contains qualities and signs attributed to Kalki Avatar reflecting on the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
What Hindu Scriptures say about Muhommad (PBUH) ?

I AM MUSLIM and trust me, DO NOT convert to another religion if you just want to be with some girl. You should only convert once you believe in what the religion truly has to say about life and are ready to follow its principles.
Islam is not only a religion it is A WAY OF LIFE. There are strict rules and practicing them in your everyday life is a must. If you’re only converting to marry her (and not for the religion) – don’t convert. You’ll end up hating the girl and the religion by the end of it.
-Try staying with the girl for a longer time before converting
-Know beforehand about Islamic practices and principles BEFORE converting so you’ll know what it’s all about
Good Luck!

It’s not their parents that is strict…
A moslem woman should marry a moslem
Although A moslem guy can marry a non moslem, one of Mohammad’s wife is Catholic or something, trust me I’m a moslem, and my gramps’ moslem, yet grandma is Catholic
Oh, yes, if you convert just to get married, I suggest don’t convert, you’ll end up as a sinner in both Islam and Hinduism
