toes123: Is there anything you can do to get rid of a big clitoris?
I am only 14 and I wanted to know if a big clitoris grows according to your body or will it get smaller as i grow, if i dont do anything to it. It is really uncomfortable and I am very self conscious about it. If you can help that would be great. Thanks

The clitoris comes in all different sizes. Everyone is different. Studies have actually been done on this topic. The reason there are a lot of weird rumors about the size of the clitoris, probably mostly because a clitoris is essentially a really small, underdeveloped penis – we all start out essentially the same in the womb, but some of us become girls and some become boys. In most women you would never know because all you ever see of their clitoris is the little pink bump under the folds of skin at the top of the vagina called the hood.

Some women may have a hormonal imbalance, causing their clitoris to grow larger than any clitoris would normally. You may have heard rumors about women bodybuilders having penises or something. These rumors stem from fact, and what happens is that the clitoris gets larger from steroid and testosterone use. So the bottom like is that if a girl is not taking any male hormones and if she doesn’t have a natural hormonal imbalance, her clitoris will be what it is. If it is a little small or a little large, it will still do the job it was designed to do.

If you are concerned, this is something you need to discuss with a gynecologist. I realize it is probably not something you want to discuss with your mom, but if you would be comfortable with that, it would be a good idea. Or maybe talk to another female relative you trust.
