Andrew Ortman: Is there a term for religions who strictly believe that their religion is the only true religion?
Not sure if true is a word. Most Christians believe that Christianity is the only religion, and the others are just stories. Is there a term for religions that believe this concept?

Im not sure if this will be much help but there is religious fundamentalism. Fundamentalists believe that what their scriptures says is the truth, no negotiations. they use their scriptures to reject change and with the rise of multi-culturalism, fundamentalism is on the increase as they feel a threat to their religion so react by protecting scriptures. They believe truth is the scripture which is their religion.

I don’t think you are choosing your word correctly.
Every religion believes that they have the real truth. (True religion.) However, not every religion believes that you have to be a member of their faith to go to heaven.
Some Christian denominations believe that only their denomination will make it to heaven. (Church of Christ) Other Christian denominations believe that every Christian who has a “personal relationship with Jesus Christ” will be saved. (Fundamentalists and Evangelicals) Still other denominations believe that you can have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, without being a Christian, simply by cooperating with the work of the Holy Spirit within you. (most other Christian denominations)
If you are talking about Islam, then I would agree with you. They all believe you need to have Mohammed as your prophet to get to heaven.
When people refer to this type of belief the word used is “intolerant”. If a religion is considered “intolerant” it is understood to mean that there is no compromise on their beliefs. You have to be one of their members or you are presumed to be hell-bound.
