Darlene: Is there a scam out there regarding a very expensive motorhome for almost nothing?
I have seen a motor home advertised for $ 41,900 that lists for $ 141,000. Looks suspiciously like another scam I saw for cars. Has anyone seen this? The person says he is out of Cape Coral, FL.

It’ll likely be a scam … you contact the seller and it’s in another state /area whatever or they are stationed overseas (Iran/Iraq in military service) they will then ask for $ 2000 or whatever for “transport money” to get it to you for “inspection” and will likely tell you it’s a deposit and if you don’t like it or not as described they will give you the money back. Of course the motorhome never shows up and your out the money. Many times the same pictures are on craigslist and ebay selling the same motorhome
These scams are all over Craigslist, nobody would sell it for that little, they can get twice that by selling to a dealer or even a local buyer, a legitimate seller is not going to list a car on Craigslist in another city or state. They would list locally or find a local dealer. If they mention anything about shiping or Ebay its definitely a scam. Try saying that your brother lives near them and would like to come by to inspect the motorhome before you buy it, then see if they give excuses or not
See how many posts comeup when you google motorhome scam
If you only deal with local buyers you will avoid most scams https://www.craigslist.org/about/scams anything mentioning shipping or escrow is a scam
