Unknown: What is the difference between training shoes and tennis shoes?
Will wearing training shoes when playing tennis lead to injuries or affect my play? I couldnt find tennis shoes I liked, but found training shoes. I asked the workers of the store, but they didnt give me a definite answer…

Cross trainers and tennis shoes are pretty close to the same thing. Basically they are both stop and go – and change direction shoes (general purpose).
The main difference I would say is that you can buy pretty cheap cross-trainers (even a good brand like New Balance) because of the universal appeal, and those will not be good shoes for tennis.

i find training shoes are softer at the sides of the shoe… which is why u dont want to wear them when u play tennis.. because soft sides at the shoe can make the foot roll in
so u need strong support at sides of the shoe
Answer by 10ISGAWDI find with my training shoes, it lacks the same support and cushion as my tennis shoes. Tennis shoes are designed with a “shock absorption” philosophy. Tennis shoes are also built with stop & start movement in mind; not necessarily the case with trainers.
Bottom line: If you have found a pair of athletic shoes that you are comfortable with and feel that it takes care of your both on the court and in the gym . . . wear that shoe!

Tennis shoes are used for tennis. Go to tennisexpress.com to look for a shoe. There are some great looking ones.Answer by Insplisity
Just as some contributors before me responded – training shoes can be bought cheaper, because there is no need for “shock absorption” – they need need to be only good for providing good side support.
