Kate: Is the landlord liable for grounds maintenance and/or gardening in Seattle?
I have moved many times throughout Seattle and each time my landlord has been FULLY responsible for gardening and making sure the property and driveways and walkways look great! The place I live in now looks like complete horrible trash and my landlord just now tells me that it’s my responsibility?! It’s a three unit property, I am just shocked, is he right?

Single and duplexes I have rented the tenant takes care of the grounds. A triplex seems to be between a duplex and apartment complex so it could go either way.
it would depend on your lease. most condo or multiplexes aka small apartments, generally have someone who cares for them. but what will it hurt if you and your neighbors do it? i love mowing the yard.
but if neither of you do it be prepared to live in a place that looks shabby.Answer by Raleighite
It depends on what the lease states. I always include ground maintenance responsibility on my lease’s as the tenants responsibility so that there is no confusion. If it is not stated it can be open to what is worked out with the landlord.Answer by towanda
That would be a good question to ask before you move in and you should have been advised of it before you did. It isn’t a given.
