Vernon Dozier: Redux: Is my enormous package subject to taxation upon entering a new port?
I’m just returning from an extensive trip abroad and have a HUGE package I’m bringing back into the States. The problem is I’ll be visiting several ports of entry before arriving at my final destination stateside.
Is my behemoth package subject to special taxation as I move between each and every different port of entry? Will personnel at every port of entry want to make an up-close inspection of my package, checking it for contents or will they just be content to give it a quick feel through the wrapping without me unwrapping it?
Thanks for your help.

lol. you are hilarious.
Not only are you going to be paying enormous taxes but you are also going to have to pay a rental fee for a wheelbarrow to haul that package around. I feel jealous for the recipient of that package who gets to open it up and get surprised.Answer by Wayf
Surely some will want to do the up-close and personal inspection, but I suspect that many will just settle for the quick grop… I mean feel kind of inspection.
Personally, I think you should be happy that I no longer work in that department, since I run the packages through extensive inspections, including visual, hands-on and full measurements / weights of each and every said package.
Bon Voyage!
Answer by Instant Star is Mrs Mojo RisinWell, there’s a very special port of entry that you’ll be looking to enter of course. At this port of entry I can guarantee you that the personnel will demand a very thorough inspection of your enormous package. Speaking as an experienced package-handling personnel there’s going to be a lot of hand action on your package, it will be handled, groped, and possible pinched.
Sometimes, if there’s a suspicious substance on the package, I’ve been asked to take my place closer to said package and run my tongue ever so gently along the length of the package just to give it the all clear.
However, I might be able to get you off with a quick feel without unwrapping your package, it’s really up to how much time you’re willing to put into making sure your package passes easily into port.
Answer by MezmerizinG MasterMinDI remember it so well. My one sent alarm bells ringing all around, and young girls within 10 miles of the airport were all evacuated.
For hours, all I could see around me was guys, old hags. It was hell, I tell you. Hell on earth.

You got this package while travelling abroad? Is that just a euphemism for herpes?Answer by serf
All I know is that when I returned from my last trip to Acapulco, an accommodating customs agent informed me that if I planned to reenter the country via the southern border, it would be nearly impossible to keep my package duty-free.
