Jen: Is it true that AP Chemistry in high school is harder than the actual chemistry course in college?
I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’m planning on taking AP Biology junior year and AP Chemistry (which, by rumor, is impossibly hard) senior year. How hard is AP Chemistry compared to AP Physics and compared to the actual chemistry course in college?
If it helps, I attend a public high school in Ohio.

An AP class is technically a college class because if you pass the AP exam, you will earn a college credit. So, basically yes it is hard. It is not a high school class though it is taught in high school. As far as it being harder than an actual college class, I really doubt that.
I took ap chem and ap physics this year and chem was much harder and from what I heard from my sister, the high school class is harder than the college class. It is not impossible though and you learn a lot that you didn’t know in the first year of chemistry
