Sheryl: Is dancing or singing more important for me to learn?
this is all for theater; i want to get very good at acting, singing, dancing, etc. So I am a pretty good dancer (i can street dance, have a good sense of rhythm, and ive never rlly taken lessons, i taught myself) but my singing isn’t that good, just okay. I want to get better at both but lessons are so expensive. which can i teach myself and which should i splurge on lessons for? thanks! ive been doing all these things forever but i really want to get serious.

I think both. But singing might be more important to focus on right now since ur worse at it.
i am really good at acting singing and dancing. ive sung in manhattan and done all kinds of wacky things usual famous people do. even travled! lol just practice all! but singing you should do most to get better. you dont need lessons! thats a waste of money.go on youtube listen to rihanna, ciarra ect. just try it! but dont forget other important things!Answer by hippiegiz
Honestly, acting would be the best to learn and master, because really what people are looking for is entertainment, you can be the best dancer and not be interesting. Acting would be better because then you can act like you can sing AND act like you can dance, and im not kidding it does actually help, and if you dont take this advice just remember when your auditioning, directors and the choreographer of the show HATE when they see people struggle, if you just act like you can dance and sing they will LOVE you.
show no fear
Answer by Moi2It is ABSOLUTELY singing. Not to put down dancing, as it is very important too, but to sing in a musical can be incredibly damaging to a voice that is not properly trained by someone with experience. Many, many actors have had their careers ruined because they were not properly trained and as a result destroyed their vocal chords. So be very careful in the teacher that you choose (a teacher who sings choral music for instance would not be a good choice, while a trained opera singer who knows how to put incredibly pressure ontheir vocal chords every night would probably be just fine.)
