What does an international student need to be successful?

ntvn: What does an international student need to be successful? What sources of information necessary to be known?
In other words, what does an international student need to have a good job? I can think of high GPA, many extracurricular activities, volunteers, working (on campus) experience. What else do you suggest?

Do you have any suggestions of good websites, organizations, etc. that help international students? Thank you so much for your answers.

You should look at the sites of the colleges or universities that interest you and look up “international students” in their catalog.

apart from all the stuff you mentioned – obvious ones – you would need to (1) understand and be tolerant of world cultures (2) be confident (3) understand your own country & culture (4) know what you want and be willing to stand up for yourself and what you believe in (5) open to new ideas (6) be able to handle criticism & be objective (6) be creative & resourceful (7) be careful of who you choose as a partner.
