How can anybody be against murder and theft while supporting war and taxation?

_: How can anybody be against murder and theft while supporting war and taxation?
Afterall, isn’t war just mass murder and taxation just theft on a massive scale?

Umm no. First of all War is what protects you from another countrys attacks. Without it, others would just attack us and we’d lose more lives. Its only murder if you attacked another country just to try and take it over and kill the opposing side. (AKA the Iraqis). And without taxation the government could not support or help its people in anyway.

Answer by Daniel
No, murder is not mass murder, not if its justified. Murder is killing without sufficient cause. Well, I think 9/11 and the growing radicalism of Islam (who want to take over the world at everyone’s expense) is sufficient cause to fight a war. Taxation. This is us coming together to try to create a better society. For example, roads, police, fire fighters, hospitals, etc etc.

Answer by nuff said
murder is far different than war. War is to protect ones country, fend off invasions, project your countries power. Murder is the senseless taking of a life. theft is taking property that does not belong to you, taxation is the leagal taking of money to support government including social services infrastructure and of course military. You ask this question both in the wrong context and I dont see you getting much sympathy from those who fought dictators like hitler while implicating what they are doing is murder.

Answer by AusPixie
LOL I agree with you, bonus to lateral thinking.

Answer by grumpyoldman
You could look at it that way I guess, if you don’t want to look at what your tax money does in this country. You are rich enough to have your own roads, fire department, military, schools, police protection etc.?

Answer by 48Special
Who really supports War and Taxation?? certainly not ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with your conclusion about war and taxes that’s reality!

Answer by [email protected]
War is fought to preserve a way of life, a culture if you will. Taxes are needed to provide funding To a government to carry out the tasks that are needed to have a modern life. It is however prudent to resist taxes that are counter to that goal
