JC Penney used to have very liberal policies for people in your situation. Check with them to see if you can get a low-limit card (maybe $ 250. Use it and pay the entire balance every month. You will build your credit quickly that way.
Insufficient credit history means that there isn’t enough acct info on your report to determine if you are a good credit risk or not. If you are a student, credit cards are everywhere. Check creditcards.com or Capital One.Answer by Scott McCart
I would lay off applying for credit cards per it really does a number on your credit in a bad way to continually aplly for cards. The insufficient credit refers to the very definition of insufficient based on your credit history. Take some time off from applying for credit cards and keep up your search on a card that is good for you. Maybe get a blockbuster card. That’s most likely the best one for you and then chill out for a minute.Answer by Heather
So, you’re trying to get a secured credit card and they’re saying insufficient credit history? That’s precisely why someone would get a secured credit line. I think you have your terms confused.
An insufficient credit history means exactly what it says; you don’t have enough credit history for the creditor to determine your credit worthiness and they don’t want to take the chance.
