christian49: If you feel you are being scammed by a romance scammer and you warn others on that pesons profile and they get?
you try to warn others about the scam can that person try to sue you for ruining there reputation if they are not a scammer and are who they say they are or this just more of the scam

Assuming they were in the same country as you and you had no actual proof they were trying to scam you, they might be able to sue you for defamation of character. BUT they would have to prove that what you said about the was false
The problem with romance scammers is that they do anything to scam you. They are constantly googling their aliases to see if they appear on any romance scam sites then will try to threaten you with a lawsuit – but normally want “hush money” to go away. It’s all part of the same scam
If you did not say anything untrue, then she has to prove that you defamed her that is going to be difficult. Also, I’m not sure how many people are going to bother spending thousands on legal fees unless they can prove that what you posted actually harmed her reputation or caused her financial losses, the loss of a job, etc. She is the one who will have to prove in a court of law that she did not lie about her identity, background, photos, etc. So she pretty much has no case if you have emails where she is asking you for money
She would also need to prove you were talking about her and not some other person with the same name. That means you posted more than just her name – you posted identifying details such as her address, photos, etc
