hurley_natl: if you are under 18, can you reserve a motel room online and check in without an adult?
Me and my friends (3 of us, all 17) are planning a trip to 6 flags before summer ends and we were wondering if you can reserve a motel room online and check in. We have a valid credit card.

Answer by oban89You’re going to have a tough time with that. When you rent a motel room, you’re entering into a contract, and since you have to be 18 in most cases to enter into a binding contract, none of the major chains are going to let you check in, even if you made a reservation online.
In addition, most websites will have terms & conditions (the fine print) that say you have to be 18 to use their site. So legally you’re out of luck.
You’re best bet would probably be to show up at a small local hotel and hope that the manager has more rooms than sense. Don’t sweat it too much, though. Half the fun of a road trip at 17 is what’s not planned.
Good Luck!
Answer by jdhshamooYou could try but it would not be legal. In order to get a hotel room you must be 18. If you reserved it online and then checked in you would have to hope they didn’t ask for your ID!Answer by Marquise
I was going to ask a duplicate question myself – I’m interested to see the responses.
