MCGC: If you are part of a wedding party, do you purchase the bride and groom a wedding present?
I am a groomsmen in my buddy’s wedding, and I am unsure if I’m supposed to buy him and the bride a wedding gift. What is the proper etiquette with this?

Yes, you should give the couple something to honor their wedding.
Note I did not say “buy”.
If you cannot afford a lavish (or even un-lavish) gift, then a simple, thoughtful card with a heartfelt message of good wishes is completely fine.
There is no set amount that you must spend, but the etiquette says that you should give them something, even just a token or a card, as a symbol of your best wishes and congratulations to the couple on their special day.
Answer by Anna K. PDefinitely you need to give them something for the memory. They are not only main characters of the party, but also participating, so it is really important that they don’t feel odd with empty hands after all the party is over. Also to remember that a special gift from you with heartful
message would be really something special. Especially you are the one who has been there for them on the most glorious day in their life…
