I work Mon Tue Thur Fri, I spend All day Sat and Sun in the apartment I share with my wife plus Friday, and Tuesday Nights. The only reason I rent the second apartment is becuse it is where my job is: 75 miles from the apartment I share with my wife, the only purpose for having the second apartment is for me to be near my job. So can I declare the rent on thesecond apartment a “work Expense” on my taxes?

Good luck with that one… You will have to make sure it is all business use and no pleasure…To even have a chance…Answer by Cutman
If you were self employed you might be able to pull it off.
If you’re going to do it regardless if it’s tax deductible, then go for it and try to write it off. If it’s not acceptable you’ll pay back the deductible, but at least you tried.
You might have to say it was 50% business 50% personal and only write off half of it.
Also know that, if you’re audited and errors are found, your chances of being audited again increase.
What ever happens good luck and F**K the IRS.
Answer by JudyNo, if that’s where your regular job is. If it’s a temporary assignment, maybe.
