Greg: If a potential scammer has my name and possibly my cell number, how worried should I be?
I got a bit curious with this obvious phony email call, but decided I wanted to ask a little more and see how full of it they were, but they asked my name and I accidentally said it, and then they asked a simple question and they abruptly hung up. Should I be worried too much?

with just your name and email and number the worst they could do is constant email and phone advertisting which can get more annpying than you think, potentially have to change your number. and could also possibly get your adress with name and number if they really cared enough
You cannot be worried “too much.” You need to be very, very worried. It would appear that whatever info they wanted they got from you. With a real name and cell phone number they can start tracing you, pretexting, and who knows what-all.
Be careful. Check your credit reports, watch your mail, beware anything — anything whatsoever — that’s the least bit out of the ordinary.
