WARNING! LONG! PLEASE READ THRU!

Ok so i’m 14 years old and i’ve started my growth spurt about 2 months ago. I’ve already grown two inches. But the problem is, ever since i’ve started puberty I have these flabs of fat on my sides. It is only about 10 pounds but I want to lose them. My mom said that everyone in our family just goes through puberty like that, they get fat then they shoot up and get tall and skinny. But everyone in our family is fat and so far I haven’t lost any weight. Is it because of my mom’s cooking? She cooks with a lot of butter and oil, meats, a lot of simple starches, and sugar. Rarely is there anything green on our table. I’ve been telling her to cook healthier because I care about her too. But she just tells me to leave her alone and if I want to eat then I can just eat what she cooks. Her main excuses are “vegetables are too expensive” or “I don’t want to try new recipes”. it has also been worsened by my new stepdad. he also likes to eat greasy fatty food and it shows. my mom also feeds my little sister that as well, and she has gotten spoiled and fat from it. she can’t have a single meal without a soda or she’ll throw a tantrum. everyone just says it’s because she is going through puberty too(? she’s 7!) so what can i do to lose those 10 pounds and gain them back, but in muscle? how can i convince my mom to cook healthier for our whole family (except for my stepdad. i hope he has a heart attack and dies)?

awww…this is really upsetting. first of all, im glad you care about your health along with your family’s health. the best way to lose wait is diet and exorcise. your family doctor probably tells you that. im 16 and a bit overweight myself but im super healthy because my mom is a huge health freak. if we have juice instead of water by our plate of greens for dinner, we celebrate (as in we i mean my sister and i). Drinking a lot of water and staying away from what your mom cooks is a good idea. also try not to each in large portions, just in small portions every 2 to 3 hours. Eating after 7 is a no no, especially if you go to bed early. please try to educate your mom on healthier eating habits. if you dotn help your mom out now it will lead to all sorts of problems during old age AND your poor sister will take after your mothers poor eating habits also!! For exorcise, just walk for 30 minutes,around the block, every other day of the week or jog for 15 minutes.again, drinking a lot of water helps you to lose weight. stay away from sodas that are high in sugar. too much soda is bad for your blood pressure and strips the enamel of your teeth. im no doctor but my mom made me read all sorts of books when i was younger on proper diets. 🙂 oh and if your mom does not want to move from her lifestyle now, just try the veggie diet! tell her that you are a vegetarian so that she is forced to buy veggies. if you are scared you will not have enough protein in your diet, eat fish, beans or even eggplant (they are all high in protein). I ve done all of the above for the past couple of years and have lost 25 lbs. off of my body, hoping one day ill reach my goal!

(if you want to, you can take omega3 pills also, to help clean your digestive track, making it easier to lose weight!)

just follow these simple tips to shed extra pounds from your weight
– take balanced diet
– take 5 meals in the day
– add fruits and vegetables in your meals
– zip your lips for fried and fast foods
– avoid colas and sweets
– drink more water and fresh juice
– do regular workout, yoga or brisk walk
– think positive and keep smiling

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
At 14, you are not a little baby, why can’t YOU cook for yourself or even your whole family? Find easy recipes for beginners on-line and go ahead, why, at 14, you are still crying for mummy?
