MyWifeIsDead: I can’t find the proper word for the sentence…?
Now… let’s say you are a witch and you have a cauldron. And another witch give you a recipe, and you want to follow the recipe instructions and make something. What is it that you do with the recipe? I believe you don’t “cook the recipe”, because it’s not food that you want to do. It’s not “execute the recipe”, you don’t “make the recipe”. I think “make” should be used if you write it down, the one who creates it”, but I’m not sure, because English is not my first language. Can you give me a hand with this, please?
Edit: I must be blind. I don’t see a “reply” (or something) button. Thank you for your answer. Do you think it sounds ok if I say “the recipe was followed” or I should use another word instead?

you “follow the recipe”. because they’re like instructions.
…..
you can say “the recipe was followed”, it doesn’t sound incorrect, I don’t know the context exactly, but it sounds about right.
“The recipe was followed” would be an unusual word order. You’re better off saying, “They/he/she/it followed the recipe.”Answer by Good Better Best
She followed the instructions.
Body parts of small reptiles really aren’t the ingredients for a recipe.
