I recieved an email from craigslist saying that my account is blocked. Is that really from craigslist or is it a spammer? if it is real how long is it blocked for?

Craigslist doesn’t really have “accounts”.
You just post whatever you want and give them an email address to contact you.
There’s no log-in process, or “my account” screen, or anything like that.
It’s therefore pretty much impossible for Craigslist to block someone’s account, as the person can just use a different email address in the future, especially because all Craigslist ads are posted anonymously anyway.

It’s probably spam.
Did the email request any personal information? If it did, then it’s DEFINITELY a spam message intended to scam you.
Check who sent it. Not the name that’s listed; the actual address information.
You can see this information by clicking on “Show headers,” if it’s a Yahoo! account, or “show details” if it’s a gmail account.

If it really IS from Craigslist, the email address will be from [something]@craigslist.com.
If it’s not from @craigslist.com, it is ALMOST definitely not from Craigslist.
