i just got a tattoo…how do i clean it and maintain it?

early sunsets over mnrovill: i just got a tattoo…how do i clean it and maintain it?
please help me…its pretty small, but my tattooer didnt really say how to clean it or anything…any help? thanks!

if its new use an aloe and vitamin d lotion in a few days all will be good keep covered if you can

It’s under the skin, right? I think you just bathe or shower normally.

Try finding a “neutral” soap; with a ph level of 5,5, the same as your skin. It’s very good for your skin, especially after the damage. Don’t use lotion the first day or so, then use a unscented lotion. Not too much, and rub it in really good. Do not itch the scratch. Do not pull off any skin. Don’t pick at any scabs. Treat it right and it’ll be pretty a lifetime!

When I got tattoo the tattoo artist told me to use A and D ointment for a week and then use lotion the next couple of weeks. I hope that this helps.

My mom, has soo many tattoos i cant remember all of them. So i kind of know how to clean them. She personally would wash it and keep a bandage on it for a day or two. If you have time and some money you can go to a tattoo shop and they usually have special cleaners for them.

I have many tattoos and my whole family has them, so I know a thing or two bout cleaning a tat. a few hours after you get the tat take off the bandage and wash it, I like dial soap, air dry. Everyone uses different things but me and my fam perfer preparation H. Yeah yeah its butt cream, but it works. Keep your new tat with a layer of butt cream on it for the next two weeks. Wash while in shower and if anything gets stuck in the cream. Keep UNbandaged as much as you can, let it get some air and heel. There are sometimes you might want to cover it just because the cream will leave a greasy spot ( I learned the hard way). Hope it turnes out keep gettin tatted up!
