I just bought a USB connector for my SCH-u740 and my computer says “Cannot install this hardware” What do I do

soxrox91095: I just bought a USB connector for my SCH-u740 and my computer says “Cannot install this hardware” What do I do
I plug it in and then it says “New Hardware Found” I click on it and it comes up with install wizard. Then I click the “Install” button and about 3 seconds later it says “Cannot Install Hardware.” Can Someone please help me?
Where do i go to download the drivers?

see if the usb connector is compatible with your computer

The usb might not be compatible with your computer. Check out all the usb instructions and make sure your computer will match up.

Ok, the SCH-U740 is a cell phone, it is not an actual add on device for a computer, it may have a USB connection cable that allows you to connect your cell phone to your PC but you will need some form of software program that will allow you to transfer data between your cell and the PC. According to the PDF file copy of your users manual if you refer to pages 103-104 it explains the steps to connect your cell to the PC via USB connector to sync and download music to the Cellphone. Perhaps there are other features that will also allow you to connect your cell to the PC but they may require other types of software in order to install those features.

The icon that appears in the taskbar notification area of your desktop is telling you the computer has recognized the device, you should not use the hardware installation wizard to attempt the connection, follow the instructions in your users manual to complete the data transfer.
